Who are we

Nikki and Ryan are the heart behind ELG Australia, a family-owned hospitality group built on warmth, quality, and connection. They’ve poured their energy into developing venues that feel like an extension of home-places where great food, community, and lasting memories come together. They remain hands-on and people-focused with a deep respect for the local communities they serve.

Our history

Our story began in East London, where the Esqulant family first made their mark at the iconic Golden Heart—an East End pub renowned for its character, community, and sense of place. After relocating to Perth, the family launched Hillarys Beach Club in 2023, bringing that same spirit to the coast. This flagship venue quickly became a vibrant destination where locals and visitors come together over great food, live music, and shared experiences. As our group has grown, so has our family’s involvement, with many members playing a part in shaping what ELG Australia stands for today: genuine hospitality, strong community roots, and experiences worth remembering.

    Owners

    Ryan & Nikki have over 20 years experience running & managing successful hospitality venues in Australia and the UK from small cafés to large hospitality venues.

  • Sophia Esqulant
    Operational Director

    Sophia is a successful venue manger who is passionate about modern hospitality and the well-being of her guests and staff.

  • Jonathan Evans
    Operational Director

    John has an extensive wealth of knowledge, having learned his trade across 5-star hotels whilst Growing up on the coast of North Wales & Liverpool and Perth.

  • Samson Brent
    Operational Director

    A highly skilled & award-winning chef whose experience spans both Perth and London. A proud local talent, with extensive culinary expertise in modern cuisine.

  • Daren Holscher
    Group Operations Officer

    Daren, originally from the Pacific Northwest in Washington, USA, is the Group Operations Manager at ELG, bringing extensive experience across all areas of the hospitality industry. He oversees multiple venues with a strong focus on service excellence, team development, and customer experience, and was recognised nationally as the AHA Venue Manager of the Year.

    Group Executive Chef

    Hailing from Southport, England, Steve is a highly renowned chef with extensive experience across the UK, Melbourne, and Perth. His culinary style centres on locally sourced ingredients, presenting modern Australian cuisine with elegance and sophistication.

  • Agnieszka Shick
    Group Brand Manager

    Agnes is a graphic designer with over 10 years’ experience, specialising in hospitality design for the past seven years. She oversees brand direction and brand cohesion across ELG Australia.

  • Lesley Waller
    Group Chief Financial Officer

    Overseeing financial performance, systems, and governance across the ELG Australia. Working closely with the directors and senior leadership team, she supports strategic decision-making and new venue development, with a strong focus on building scalable foundations to support ongoing growth.
